I wanted to provide you with a brief update as to the new guidelines regarding exercising in the gym as mandated by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.

On the afternoon of Thursday, July 2nd, the governor mandated “face coverings over the nose and mouth when inside a commercial entity or other building or space open to the public.”  A copy of this order was placed at the front desk for our staff to reference should members or guests have questions.

On Friday, July 3rd, a revised copy of the “Checklist for Gyms and Exercise Facilities” was issued that we were not made aware of and did not discover until this morning.  This revision states that “All employees and customers must wear a face covering (over the nose and mouth) wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another individual not in the same household.”

Due to the above revision, we will require all members to have a face covering and to utilize it when proper social distancing is not able to be maintained like during entry and exit from our building.  You will not be required to wear one while exercising as long as you are able to maintain 6-feet spacing from others.

Although we try our best, we cannot anticipate every unique situation.  We will do our best to take action based on common sense and wise judgment that will protect the health of our membership and staff.

As always, thank you in advance for helping us maintain a safe and healthy workout facility and for your understanding of the everchanging nature of this situation.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to us should you have any questions.
